VOLUNTEERS AND BALL KIDS SOUGHT FOR DELRAY BEACH ITC

Delray Beach, FL—The opportunity to learn the behind-the-scenes aspects of a professional sporting event is available to members of the South Florida community as the 2007 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships is seeking volunteers and ball kids to participate in the event.
The Delray Beach ITC is scheduled for January 27-February 4 at the Delray Beach Tennis Stadium & Center.

The ATP event, celebrating its 15th year, showcases 32 of the world's top men's tennis players, including American James Blake, the No. 4 player in the world. No. 11-ranked Tommy Haas, the event’s defending champion, will also be in the draw.

Volunteer positions include drivers, scorers, ushers, office personnel and ticket takers.  Individuals must work at least 35 hours in pre-tournament or tournament week roles, while ball kids must be 12-years-old and are required to attend training sessions and work the qualifying round on Saturday, January 27 prior to the main draw. Ball kids who work at least three main draw sessions will receive consideration to work the semifinals and finals.

Volunteers and ball kids receive uniforms, meals during working sessions, as well as match tickets for families and friends. Interested individuals should call the tournament office at 561-330-6000 or e-mail the ITC at Volunteers@YellowTennisBall.com or Ballkids@YellowTennisBall.com.
