NO. 10 TOMMY HAAS WILL PLAY IN 2008 DELRAY BEACH ITC
German Star Joins James Blake in 2008 Singles Draw

Delray Beach, FL— Three-time U.S. Open quarterfinalist Tommy Haas has confirmed he will return to play in the 2008 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships Feb. 9-17 at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center. Haas, who won the 2005 Delray Beach ITC tiltle, will be making his third appearance in the tournament.

The world-ranked No. 10 Haas reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open yesterday after an upset win over No. 6
James Blake where he fought off three match points in the fifth set tiebreaker. Haas plays No. 4 Nikolay Davydenko of Russia Wednesday for a berth in the tournament’s semifinals.

The German-born Haas is 30-11 this year, and won his 11th career ATP title in Memphis in February. He also reached the semifinals of the Australian Open in January for a third time in his career. A long-time Bradenton resident, Haas turned pro out of the Bollettieri Academy in 1996.

Like Blake, who confirmed last week he would also play in the 2008 Delray Beach ITC, Haas’ career was once derailed by injury and his trek back to the Top 10 has been inspirational. After reaching a career-high ranking of No. 2 in the world, a severe shoulder injury caused him to miss a year and a half of tennis. He was the ATP’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2004.

With Haas, Blake and world No. 1 doubles partners
Mike and Bob Bryan already signed, tournament director Mark Baron has much to build on. “It’s been a great off-season in which we’ve been able attract four Top 10 players to Delray Beach,” he says. “We’re expecting the 2008 field to be our strongest yet from top to bottom.”

Championship Series ticket packages, which include priority reserved chair-back seating for all 13 sessions, start at $250 while the Weekender Series starts at $200 and includes chair-back reserved seating for the quarterfinals through the finals (five sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Courtside box seats packages are priced between $1,030 and $1,200 for two seats, or $1730 to $2,300 for four. All box seat packages include amenities like preferred parking and invitations to the exclusive Box Holders Party.

Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.YellowTennisBall.com or by calling 561-330-6000. Courtside box seats can only be ordered by telephone.
